A WIDOW accused of causing the death of her husband, whose skeletal remains were discovered in their home, has argued that the law does not impose a general legal duty on a spouse to take a sick partner to the hospital to preserve life. Sylvia Mutuba further told the court that the only duties imposed by marriage relate to maintenance as per Matrimonial Causes Act Number 20 of 2007. In this case, Mutuba is facing a charge of manslaughter of her husband, George Kalaba.
