Hip-hop artist Tay Grin closed the year 2025 on a high note, reflecting on his two decades in the music industry and ground breaking milestones achieved during the period. In an interview with Chill, Tay Grin shared insights into his journey, the impact of hosting international superstar Wizkid and what fans can expect from him in 2026. “The year 2025 was a defining and emotional year for me.
It marked 20 years in music, a milestone that made me pause and truly appreciate the journey, the growth, the sacrifices, the wins and the lessons. More than anything, 2025 reminded me that my purpose is bigger than myself. It is about creating opportunity and visibility for Malawi,” he said.
The highlights of his 20-year journey in music includes hosting international shows, strengthening partnerships across Africa and the diaspora as well as laying foundations for projects set for 2026. “It was the year where vision met execution,” he said. For Tay Grin, however, hosting Nigerian superstar Wizkid was the standout moment.

“That moment was historic. Personally, it felt like a reward for 20 years of consistency and belief. Professionally, it confirmed that Malawi belongs on the global stage and that our industry is ready for international conversations at the highest level,” he said.
Tay Grin said the impact went beyond personal achievement as it elevated his brand and Malawi’s music industry. “It sent a message that Malawi has the infrastructure, audience and creative talent to host world class events. It opened doors for local artists, producers and creatives’ firmly placing Malawi on the international entertainment map,” he said.
Looking ahead, Tay Grin said he is focused on 2026 as a year of global impact. “Fans can anticipate new music, major collaborations, international performances and ambitious projects that intertwine culture, tourism and business. “After 20 years in the game, I’m more focused than ever on building legacy,” he said.
