Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has released the 2026/27 FDH Bank Premiership fixtures with a stern warning to clubs against requesting changes once the schedule is set. The new season is set to kick off on April 25 and will run through to February 20 2027, according to the fixtures. Speaking after unveiling the programme in Blantyre, Sulom general secretary Williams Banda, who was accompanied by treasurer Allie Mwachande and vice-president Ronald Chiwaula, said they will not entertain requests for adjustments, marking a departure from previous seasons.
He said: “Sulom would like to inform all participating clubs, stakeholders and the general public that the 2026 season will be guided by strict adherence to the fixture schedule. “As such, fixture changes will only be considered under exceptional circumstances, with any adjustments communicated at least 72 hours in advance.” Banda also urged clubs to ensure that their home venues are available for the 240 fixtures. He said: “All clubs are strongly advised to ensure the availability and readiness of their designated home venues.
“The unavailability of a match venue on a scheduled date will automatically result in the fixture being moved to an alternative approved venue. “Where both the designated and alternative venues are unavailable, Sulom will exercise its mandate to schedule the match at any suitable venue at its discretion.” Banda said the fixtures, which have for the first time been released almost a month before kick-off, give clubs enough time to plan. He said: “A comprehensive fixture booklet has been developed to support effective planning by clubs and all stakeholders, with a balanced schedule for all teams and alignment to national team and cup competition calendars.” The fixture arrangement means clubs will play either eight home games and seven away matches in the first round, or vice versa in the second round.

Banda also called on clubs, players and officials to uphold the spirit of fair play throughout the campaign and urged supporters to avoid violence and hooliganism. He said: “All stakeholders, including clubs, officials, media, and supporters, are urged to uphold professionalism, discipline, and the Fifa fair play code. Sulom reaffirms its zero-tolerance stance on violence.
