State House Chief Communications Specialist Clayson Hamasaka noted that the British newspaper named President Hichilema among the world’s top leaders of 2025, alongside other distinguished global figures. “This recognition reflects Zambia’s rising profile on the international stage and acknowledges the country’s steady economic recovery despite confronting profound challenges, including a prolonged debt crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the worst drought in living memory,” Mr.
Hamasaka said. He added that the acknowledgment underscores leadership that has navigated difficult national circumstances with decisions shaping both domestic progress and international confidence. President Hichilema attributed the recognition to the patience, resilience, and determination of the Zambian people.
He also acknowledged the spirit of solidarity that has united citizens, the private sector, and cooperating partners in advancing national recovery. “Above all, the President recognises that it is the collective sacrifice and resolve of the Zambian people that the world is now acknowledging,” Mr. Hamasaka stated.
