Sunday night’s live eviction saw the Big Brother Mzansi axe fall on two housemates who failed to secure enough votes to remain in the running to win the R2 million cash prize. Ramona Maloy (37) from Montagu in the Western Cape and Tumi The Barber (28), real name Tumi Mohwaduba, from Kwaggafontein in Mpumalanga province were evicted during the week seven of the competition. For the season, contestants with KwaZulu-Natal roots or connections include Lindokuhle “Bravo B” Nsele (originally from KwaNongoma), Wanda “King Wanda” Gumede (born and raised in KZN), Thandeka Tshabalala (Durban-born), Ashay Sewlall (from Richards Bay) and Langelihle “Ilano” Gumede (from Inanda).
Each season of Big Brother Mzansi carries a theme that shapes its tone and tasks. This year’s theme “Bazozwa” (they will feel it) signals intensity, consequence and heightened drama. In recent years, the show has embraced bold concepts including season 4 “Ziyakhala Wahala” , which centred on chaos and conflict.
Season 3 “S’ya Mosha”, focused on disruption and unpredictability. Season 2 “Double Trouble” , which paired housemates together and the original season 1 “Secrets”, where hidden truths drove the narrative. “Bazozwa” has proven to be one of the most emotionally charged yet.
