Prophet Ian Ndlovu’s Academic Qualifications Questioned After US$270K Gift from Wicknell Chivayo

Zimbabweans are questioning Prophet Ian Ndlovu’s academic qualifications after he received luxury cars from businessman Wicknell Chivayo.

On Thursday, April 10, Chivayo made headlines when he presented Prophet Ian Ndlovu with a 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series VXR and his wife with a 2025 Toyota Fortuner 2.8d GD6. The two vehicles are worth a total of US$270,000. It’s still unclear whether Prophet Ndlovu accepted the gift.

The attention soon shifted to Ndlovu’s academic background, with many social media users questioning the authenticity of his credentials.

User @ali_naka posted screenshots of Prophet Ian Ndlovu’s LinkedIn profile on X, which states he graduated from Midlands State University (MSU) in 1998. However, MSU officially opened in 2001, sparking confusion.

Naka pointed out the discrepancy, asking,

“According to his LinkedIn page. Pastor Dr Ian Ndlovu did his studies at MSU from 1998 -2001 BUT MSU was opened in 2001!”

Here are some of the reactions:

Midlands State University (MSU) was established in 2000, with its roots dating back to 1998 when Gweru Teachers College started offering degree programs in affiliation with the University of Zimbabwe. The university’s establishment was a result of the Zimbabwe
