During the covid-19 lockdowns, when public gatherings were banned, he assisted struggling entertainers such as the late comedian marabha, musician paradzai mesi, boxer mosquito, football legend george shaya and socialite lady squanda. Sekuru banda built a six-roomed house for marabha in epworth and provided groceries and medical aid to the late shaya.He has also distributed sanitary wear to schoolgirls in rural areas and continues to run empowerment programmes for youths and widows. The growing public sentiment is that recognising sekuru banda’s consistent humanitarian work could inspire more collaboration among zimbabwe’s philanthropists, helping to strengthen community support systems at a time when many are struggling.
