The team seized counterfeit consumables, counterfeit clothing and shoes, as well as illicit pharmaceutical products. “A total of 1 585 counterfeit consumables, 92 counterfeit clothing and shoe items, and 507 illicit pharmaceutical products were confiscated. This resulted in the seizure of 2 184 items with an estimated value of R122 000.” Sibeko added these operations form part of ongoing efforts by the SAPS in Gauteng to combat the distribution and sale of counterfeit and illicit goods.
