Mystery surrounds the shooting of two people in Dundee’s central business district yesterday. Northern Natal Newsreported that the incident occurred in Grey Street, where the pair, a man and woman aged 35 and 30 and believed to be in a relationship, were seated inside a vehicle when they were approached by an unknown gunman. Police spokesperson Sergeant Siyabonga Nkwanyana said the suspect opened fire before fleeing the scene.
“Both victims sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to a medical facility for treatment,” Nkwanyana confirmed. The motive for the attack remains unclear, and police have not yet established whether the victims were specifically targeted. A case of attempted murder, relating to two counts, has been opened for investigation.
