What should have been a period of celebration turned into horror for a woman who was brutally assaulted at a tavern in Pietermaritzburg during the festive season.
The incident, which occurred at a tavern in Imbali on December 28, has sparked widespread public outrage and renewed concern about violence at drinking establishments. The prolonged assault continues, with the first man repeatedly kicking her in the head. He then storms off, but the assault continues as the second man delivers numerous blows to her head.
When the two men momentarily leave, another woman comes to her aid, attempting to lift or move her as she lies on the ground, appearing unconscious. Her efforts are interrupted when the two men reappear and launch another barrage of kicks and punches to the woman’s face before finally leaving. The violent attack was witnessed by several patrons, many of whom scattered in fear as it unfolded.
