Pastors calls for manifesto awareness

Muchinga Province Pastors’ Fellowship has urged electorates to acquaint themselves with political party manifestos to enable them to make informed decisions during the upcoming General Elections. With the August 13 General Elections drawing near, Muchinga Province Pastors’ Fellowship Chairperson, Reverend Mutale Ndoki, encouraged voters to turn up in large numbers on polling day and vote wisely. “It is our prayer as the Church that Zambians should exercise their constitutional right to vote for leaders who will meet the aspirations of the Zambian people,” Reverend Ndoki said.

Reverend Ndoki said this in an interview with Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Chinsali today. He has commended political parties for maintaining peaceful campaigns in the province, noting that only minor conflicts have been recorded so far. He called on politicians vying for different leadership positions to run issue-based campaigns and avoid violence at all costs.

“As a Pastors’ Fellowship, our core message to political parties and electorates is for them to continue embracing peace as they carry out their campaigns,” he said. Reverend Ndoki further called on the Church to continue preaching peace and unity as the country heads towards the polls. “As the Body of Christ, we shall continue taking a leading role to preach peace and unity,” he stated.
