The arrest occurred on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, and she was held at Machipisa Police Station in Harare, Zimbabwe.
According to reports, Java filed a complaint claiming that Malloti targeted him with harmful and defamatory online attacks in June 2025.

Malloti, who was heavily pregnant and due for induced delivery due to complications, faced health concerns during her detention.
She was expected to appear in court on August 13, 2025, to face these cyberbullying allegations but was not taken to court.
