According to Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, Mguni left the keys in the ignition and the vehicle unlocked.While Mguni entered the lodge, the suspect pretended to have forgotten something in the car and returned to it. Moments later, he drove off in the silver Honda Fit (registration AFD 0367), valued at US$4,000.

The vehicle has not been recovered.“When Mguni noticed the suspect was taking too long to join him, he returned to the parking area and discovered the vehicle was gone.
