Orange Botswana has reaffirmed commitment to the development of football by renewing its partnership with the Botswana Football Association (BFA) with a P16,806,000 sponsorship for Season 7 of the Orange FA Cup.Speaking at the sponsorship launch in Gaborone on Friday, Orange Botswana acting CEO, Yves Famien, said the FA Cup sponsorship was community-driven, noting that the organisation believed in the power of sport. He said sport was more than entertainment, as it united communities while also driving economic progress. Famien added that the company had increased the value of the contract, which runs from 2026 to 2029, and despite economic challenges, they saw it fit to continue supporting the BFA because of the importance of the FA Cup.
Orange Botswana Public Relations and Communications manager, Tebogo Nadisah said football told the story of the nation. “It captures our ambition, our resilience and our shared belief in greatness as we rise together with every team, from the grassroots to the Premier League,” she said. She further noted that Season 7 reflected their vision of ensuring football belonged to everyone, reaching every corner of the country and allowing the next generation of Botswana football legends to emerge and shine.
BFA president Tariq Babitseng commended Orange Botswana for its continued contribution to football. He said the company had previously supported national football teams, Zebras and the Mares, demonstrating its seriousness about developing Botswana football. Babitseng said the FA Cup reached all corners of the country and gave players an opportunity to showcase their talent. The Orange FA Cup Season 7, dubbed Kgaatshoo Bophaskelem, will kick off with 48 teams from both the northern and southern parts of the country.ENDS
