Tinashe sambiri – opposition activist shakespeare mukoyi has claimed responsibility for reclaiming control of harvest house, the historic headquarters of zimbabwe’s opposition parties. Speaking on wednesday, mukoyi’s close associate said, “we have finally taken back harvest house. It belongs to the people of the opposition, and no one should use force to claim it.” harvest house has long served as the base for the mdc, mdc-t, mdc alliance, and currently the citizens coalition for change (ccc).
It was previously taken over by douglas mwonzora, reportedly with the support of heavily armed security personnel during factional disputes linked to former ccc leader nelson chamisa. A source within harvest house told reporters, “douglas mwonzora has effectively lost control of the building. Mukoyi and his team are now in charge.” mwonzora has not publicly responded to mukoyi’s claims, leaving the matter unresolved and raising questions about the future management of the iconic opposition landmark.
