“Power to the people”, is as misunderstood as it is misrepresented, misconstrued and misapplied. The wellbeing of the people should be paramount even at the expense of power. The desires and opinions of the citizens are both varied and diametrically opposed, so informed emotionless yet fair decisions are necessary.
“Power” therefore, should not mean that in order to win, someone has to lose. If Marx was the father of Communism, Lenin was its malevolent uncle and the master revolutionary strategist. Contrary to Marx, Lenin sought a classless society in a single-party state.
A contradiction in terms. A single-party state is binary, providing for the elite and everyone else. Effectively you’re stuck like a bug on fly paper with that single party.

No elections. A society under absolute state control will not provide a Porsche in every garden nor a Rolex on every wrist. As for Vuitton — like Hughy and Dewy … never a Louis — so phooey.
Farewell free enterprise. No hierarchy of competence where if you need a professional, you get the best. Mediocrity, should be homeless.
Lenin’s dream of a workers’ state was a contradiction in terms — a sales pitch — a con. In reality, the workers would be impotent and dependent on the state. The unspoken strategy.
Nobody loves and fears power like those who wield it. When you have it, you stand on a rickety ladder that perpetually threatens collapse. Who should control commerce?
Some say the government. Others feel private enterprise. The former is underpinned by socialism if not communism — aka, power to the powerful.
Capitalism, grossly misrepresented, though historically not entirely blameless, is regarded by some as the great exploiter. The lady selling fruit, cigarettes, etc., on the roadside, is an entrepreneurial capitalist trading freely to survive. The shisa nyama man, grilling next door, is doing precisely the same thing, as is the taxi man plying the high streets.
People merely making a living. Capitalism means opportunity. Evidentially speaking, it is common cause that state-controlled entities are more of a liability than an asset.
Examples abound. They rarely provide prosperity for anyone but the elite and are parasitic on the fiscus. Remember, the state is intrinsically penniless.
Surely as a contributor you should have some say in deciding how your money is spent? Taxation without representation is positively medieval. Enter the Magna Carte Under state control you are effectively living under authority.
