One person killed in Gillits crash

One man died after the vehicle lost control on the M13 Pinetown Bound before Gillits offramp on Friday night. According to ALS Paramedics, at around 8pm, paramedics arrived on the scene to find that a single vehicle had somehow lost control and rolled numerous times, coming to rest on its roof. “Paramedics assessed the scene and found that there were four occupants in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

“One of the men, believed to be in his thirties, was found to have sustained major injuries, and unfortunately, there was nothing Paramedics could do for him, and he was declared deceased on the scene. The three other occupants sustained minor injuries,” read the statement. At this stage, the events leading up to the crash are unknown; however, SAPS and Metro Police were in attendance and will be investigating further.
