African fintech startup NjiaPay has successfully raised $2.1 million in a seed funding round led by Newion, marking a significant milestone in its mission to enhance payment reliability for businesses across the continent. The new funding would accelerate NjiaPay’s mission to deliver world-class payment performance, scale its operations, and expand access to reliable payment infrastructure for online businesses across Africa. Africa Tech reports that founded in 2024, NjiaPay was initially developed to solve a real-world problem for Talk360, an international calling app used by millions.

Building on that success, NjiaPay had expanded its platform to support high-growth brands, including Anytime Fitness South Africa and Melon Mobile. The platform functions as a central control tower for online payment systems, automatically routing payments in real time to maximize success rates while providing businesses with a unified view of fragmented payment data.
