Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has revealed that she is ‘devastated’ after the death of Nkanu Nnamdi, who was one of her twin boys. The family confirmed the passing, which occurred on Wednesday, in a statement released by Adichie’s communications team, GLG Communications. “We’re deeply saddened to confirm the passing of one of Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Dr Ivara Esege’s twin boys, Nkanu Nnamdi, who passed on Wednesday,” read the statement, signed by Omawumi Ogbe. It emphasized the family is “devastated by this profound loss” and requested privacy during this “incredibly difficult time.” The statement concluded by asking the public and media for “grace and prayers” as the family mourns in private, confirming that “No further statements will be made.” Adichie and Esege married in 2009.
