Subaru’s all-new seventh-generation Outback has already begun building strong international momentum ahead of its arrival in the local market later this year, having recently been named one of AutoTrader U.S.’s Best New Cars of 2026. Selected from hundreds of new vehicles available to consumers, the recognition highlights the Outback’s capability, versatility and bold new design, reinforcing its position in a highly competitive segment. This latest accolade adds to a growing list of honours achieved in overseas markets, including the prestigious IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) Top Safety Pick+ rating.

This underscores Subaru’s ongoing commitment to safety and further strengthens the Outback’s appeal as a dependable and well-rounded SUV, suited to a wide range of driving conditions and lifestyles. Globally, the latest Outback is offered with a choice of two four-cylinder Boxer engines: a naturally-aspirated 2,5-litre and a turbocharged 2,4-litre. The former produces 137kW and 254Nm of torque, with the latter boosting outputs to 194kW and 382Nm. Both engines are paired with Subaru’s Lineartronic CVT (continuously variable transmission). Standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive remains a core feature of the Outback, delivering confident handling and stability across varying road and weather conditions.
