First Lady Mutinta Hichilema has commissioned the Mutinta Hichilema Secondary School in Chilanga District of Lusaka Province, valued at 35 million Kwacha. Speaking during the ceremony, Mrs Hichilema who thanked the Wonderful Group of Companies for constructing the school, said it has motivated her to continue advocating for children’s rights to education. She said naming the school after her is not a personal accolade, but a call to enhance the fight for children’s rights especially for the vulnerable.
Mrs Hichilema noted that education remains the greatest gift and equalizer especially since the introduction of Free Education where over two million additional learners have been enrolled. She observed that this has given families renewable hope and access to learning. Mrs Hichilema noted that the school which has been strategically built will bridge the gap in access to secondary education and uplift communities especially the girl child.
She added that the school also stands as a place of second chance for those who have faced setbacks such as early pregnancies or child marriages to reclaim their future through education. “Let me take this opportunity to thank the Wonderful Group of Companies through the United Capital Fertilizer for this life changing project, your contribution is not just financial, it is transformational. You have invested in the future”, she said.

Mrs Hichilema added that the collaboration is a powerful reminder that national development is not merely spoken about but acted upon.
