Reports are that on August 12, 2025 at around 10 pm, the now deceased and Dzimauta were on their way home from Taloo Business Centre in the company of one Innocent Pangura.

It is reported that Bangura reached home first while the deceased proceeded to his home.

Allegations are that on the same day, around 11 pm, Baye, who was allegedly drunk, was found by his brother, Simbarashe Baye (33), lying lifeless in a pool of blood.

Reports are that a police report was made at Musami Post on August 13 in the morning, resulting in the arrest of the suspect, Dzimauta.

Upon his arrest, it is alleged that he was found with a knife and some of his shoes had blood stains.

Provincial Police spokesperson for Mashonaland East, Inspector Simon Chazovachiyi confirmed the incident in a statement. “ZRP Musami and Criminal Investigations Department officers from Murewa attended the scene and they discovered that the body had a broken right arm and three deep cuts on the forehead,” he said. “It was also discovered that the deceased’s neck was tied with a shirt, indicating that it was dragged from the place where he was allegedly murdered. “Police officers, through investigations, managed to track the suspect and arrested him.

They recovered some shoes with blood stains as well as a knife. “The body of the deceased was conveyed to Murewa District Hospital mortuary where its awaiting postmortem.

The suspect is now assisting police with investigations. ”He appealed to the public to always respect the sanctity of life. “Life is precious and people should respect one another.

We encourage everyone to respect the sanctity of life,” he said. “We also appeal to the public to avoid walking alone during the night.
