Police investigate discovery of body on Lukannon Drive. The body of an unidentified 26-year-old man riddled with gunshot wounds was found dumped along Lukannon Drive in the sand near Mnandi beach, Mitchells Plain. It is reported that the deceased sustained a gunshot wound to his head and to his body.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said: “Mitchells Plain police registered a murder case for investigation following a shooting incident on Sunday morning, January 25, at about 11.45am, in Lukannon Drive, where an unknown male was shot and fatally wounded. “Police members attended to the crime scene where they found the victim with gunshot wounds to his body. “The motive for the attack is yet to be determined. The suspect/s fled the scene and are yet to be arrested.” Public Relations Officer for the Mitchells Plain Community Police Forum Linda Jones said that the body was not buried under the sand but found along the road.
