FCB Nyasa Big Bullets immediate-past coach Peter Mponda has withdrawn his intention to sue the club for unlawful dismissal after reaching an amicable settlement. This comes barely days after the Bullets and Flames legend’s lawyer David Kanyenda said they would drag the People’s Team to court, having failed to reach an amicable settlement. In an interview yesterday, the lawyer confirmed the new development, saying: “The parties have reached an amicable and negotiated settlement.

“The terms of the compromise are mutually satisfactory but confidential; hence, I am not at liberty to disclose the same. “Resultantly, the dispute shall no longer proceed to litigation as previously contemplated.” In a separate interview, Mponda confirmed the development, saying: “Yes, we are indeed proceeding as explained by counsel Kanyenda.” Bullets acting chief executive officer Albert Chigoga also confirmed the development, saying: “That’s very true.” Bullets fired Mponda on December 21 2025, but kept a tight lid on the reasons. His dismissal came a day after Bullets’ TNM Super League title bid came to a halt after being held to a goalless draw by Mighty Tigers.

In an earlier interview before the latest development, Kanyenda, who is Mighty Wanderers FC director of football, said: “Our esteemed client is aggrieved with the reasons advanced and procedure adopted to terminate his employment relationship. “In our professional estimation, both the reasons and procedure fall below the minimum standards prescribed by law. “As the parties have failed to reach an amicable negotiated settlement, litigation is the only viable option to find a durable solution to the matter.” Mponda was hired as Bullets coach in January 2025 on a three-year contract after parting ways with Silver Strikers, whom he guided to the league title.
