MozParks supported local flood-response efforts in Matola Rio following the floods resulting from heavy rains that affected parts of southern Mozambique in recent weeks. Once again, companies based at Beluluane Industrial Park joined MozParks in supporting surrounding communities during a period of increased need. The support focused on the delivery of essential items identified by municipal authorities as priorities for families affected by the flooding.
MozParks expressed its appreciation to the Municipality of Matola Rio for its coordination, as well as to Raxio and Fluid Power Automation for their contributions to this effort. Through this collaboration, MozParks and its partners continue to support local communities in times of need, consistent with their long-term engagement in the region. MozParks is a developer and operator of Sustainable Economic Zones, established as a public-private partnership between the (APIEX).
MozParks manages parks in Beluluane and Nampula, with plans for expansion into Cabo Delgado province. To date, MozParks has attracted over 70 companies from 18 countries, contributing to income generation for more than 120,000 people in Mozambique and securing over USD 3 billion in investments at the Beluluane Industrial Park in Maputo province.
