MozParks and the Niassa Provincial Executive Council have formalised a partnership to advance economic development in Niassa Province through the establishment of Niassa Parks, an industrial park initiative designed to attract investment, strengthen local value chains, and create employment opportunities. The partnership was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between MozParks’ General Director, Onório Manuel, and Governor of Niassa Province, Elina Judite. The initiative will centre around a major project acting as an anchor company, providing opportunities for supplier development and greater participation of local businesses in industrial value chains.

“Niassa Parks is more than just another initiative. It introduces a new model of development for our Province through a strategic Public-Private Partnership between our Executive and MozParks. Our Niassa Parks, with two industrial parks, will become a hub of development, linked to anchor projects that generate value and activate entire supply chains.

Our goal is clear, and we fully commit to it, to create 200,000 direct and indirect jobs and bring income and dignity to 2 million Mozambicans. Through the MozYouth Foundation, the initiative will deliver structured soft skill training and paid internship programmes aligned with the needs of companies that will be operating in the parks. In 2026 alone, Niassa Province is expected to benefit from at least 100 internship placements, targeting recent graduates and young professionals at the start of their careers.
