Mozambique: Millennium bim strengthens staff capacity in response to new tax legislation changes

In an increasingly demanding economic environment, understanding and interpreting tax changes has become a determining factor for the competitiveness and sustainability of businesses. Aware of this reality and the importance of anticipating the challenges shaping the business environment, Millennium bim held a session dedicated to analysing recent changes to tax legislation and their potential impact on the corporate sector. The initiative brought together teams from the Corporate, Investment and Business Banking areas, with the aim of strengthening the Bank’s internal preparedness in the face of an ever-evolving tax framework.

This approach ensures that corporate clients continue to benefit from close support, underpinned by specialised knowledge and solutions aligned with new regulatory requirements. The session was led by Dr Ismael Faquir, of I2A Consultoria, who presented an analysis of the main changes to tax legislation and their implications for the business environment. “In a context of transformation in the tax framework, it is essential that financial institutions are prepared to support companies with information, proximity, and specialised knowledge,” said Januário Valente, Executive Director of Millennium bim for Corporate and Investment Banking.

The meeting was attended by members of the Bank’s Board, Commercial Directors, Coordinators and Managers from the Corporate and Investment Banking area, as well as senior staff from the Bank’s departments, providing a moment for reflection and knowledge-sharing aimed at strengthening team capabilities and fostering a strategic understanding of regulatory changes.
