Mozambique: Economy Minister breaks ground for US$230 million Muxúnguè cement plant

The future industrial unit will have capacity to produce around 950,000 tonnes of clinker and 1.2 million tonnes of cement per year, significantly strengthening national production capacity, reducing dependence on imported clinker, reinforcing the cement industry value chain and increasing the country’s competitiveness in the regional market.

On the occasion, Basílio Muhate said that the investment is aligned with Government priorities, as it will contribute to the growth of industrial production, the creation of decent jobs, increased household incomes and diversification of the national production base.
