The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) alleges that Mutize misrepresented himself, claiming the vehicles were for official ZANU PF duties.
However, investigations later revealed that no party officials had used the vehicles.
Instead, Mutize allegedly used them for his own private errands.
When the rental period expired, Kundidzora discovered that the vehicles had never been involved in ZANU PF business, and Mutize allegedly failed to settle the US$5,600 debt. “The accused misrepresented facts to the complainant so that he would use the vehicles himself,” the NPA charged.
Mutize appeared before Harare Provincial Magistrate Apolonia Marutya, who remanded him in custody pending a ruling on his bail application. 🔗
