But the highlight of her visit was a lighthearted encounter with the famed “Robert Mugabe parrot.

That guy who is a feathered celebrity long associated with witty mimicry of the late former president’s fiery speeches.

True to its reputation, the parrot squawked a few well-timed slogans drawing laughter from nearby dignitaries and guests.

Speaking after the encounter, Miss Uhuru applauded the government for policies aimed at uplifting women and girls across Zimbabwe. > “The Second Republic has opened opportunities for young women to thrive in business, education, and leadership.

As Miss Uhuru, I see my role as a bridge to inspire girls from Mpopoma to Mutoko to dream bigger,” she said.

Her remarks resonated with the event’s spirit of unity and resilience adding a youthful and hopeful tone to a day steeped in military tradition.

Zinzile Mantiziba, the visionary behind the Miss Uhuru platform said Moyo’s presence at such a national occasion was intentional. “We wanted Miss Uhuru to be more than a beauty queen she is an ambassador of heritage, progress, and empowerment,” Mantiziba told Express Mail Zim.

As the parades wound down, Moyo’s image smiling next to the chatty parrot was already making rounds on social media and became an emblem of the day.
