Thomas Utete Wushe met on Thursday with ISO 9001 consultant Danisa Chinamasa, joined by Director of Quality Assurance and Trade Measures Engineer Muchumairi, to map out the rollout of the international standard.

According to the Ministry, the move is expected to ensure consistent quality in services, improve resource allocation, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and best practices. “ISO 9001 will improve transparency, accountability, resource allocation, promote a culture of continuous improvement and best practices,” the Ministry said in a statement.

ISO 9001 is an international management system standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system.

Organizations use the standard to demonstrate their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements, as well as the organization’s own requirements.

ISO 9001 is also designed to help organisations meet customer and regulatory requirements while enhancing efficiency.

The Ministry says the quality management programme will also be used to strengthen citizen satisfaction by aligning government processes with internationally benchmarked standards.
