The Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Honorable Barbara Rwodzi, has officially announced the appointment of Mrs. Prescila Charumbira to the Board of the Mosi-oa-Tunya Development Company (MOTDC). This strategic move is seen as a major step toward strengthening the infrastructure and spatial planning capabilities of the state-owned entity responsible for tourism development in the Victoria Falls region.

A Wealth of Professional Expertise As the current Head of Planning for the City of Harare, she has supervised a multitude of high-stakes town planning projects, navigating the complexities of urban growth and infrastructure management. Driving the Vision for Victoria Falls Her appointment comes at a critical time for the Mosi-oa-Tunya Development Company. As the investment arm of the Ministry, MOTDC is tasked with unlocking the economic potential of the Victoria Falls tourism corridor.

Charumbira’s specialized expertise is expected to impact the board in three key areas: –Sustainable Infrastructure: Her deep understanding of spatial planning will ensure that new tourism hubs are developed without compromising the environmental integrity of the UNESCO World Heritage site. –Strategic Project Oversight: With three decades of supervising major municipal projects, she brings the technical rigor needed to oversee large-scale construction and zoning initiatives.
