Mines ministry enforces new local content reporting rules, issues April, 15 deadline

The Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development has directed all mining and mining-related companies to submit Annual Procurement Plans and Quarterly Reports in line with the newly enacted Statutory Instrument No. 68 of 2025, which took effect on January 1, 2026. “The required documentation includes Annual Procurement Plans and Quarterly Reports, covering Tender Declarations, Tender Disclosures, and any applicable exceptions,” he said.

Banda warned that failure to comply with the submission deadlines would attract penalties as provided for under the statutory instrument.
