MINE WORKER JAILED 15 YEARS FOR RAPING GRANNY (85)

A MINE worker has been jailed for raping an 85-year-old woman. Mike Malunga,31, of Mukuvi Farm, Banket, who was employed as a general worker at Kanyama Mine, was jailed for 15 years by Chinhoyi magistrate Amos Mbobo. Prosecutor Jeff Makoni, told the court that Malunga forced his way into the elderly woman’s room.

He carried her to a nearby bush where he raped her without protection. Villagers, who were looking for her after a relative raised the alarm, found her lying helplessly in the bush. She narrated her horror tale and the case was reported to the police.
