#MCM: Tendai Elvis Mugovi – Entrepreneur

Our #MCM today is Tendai Elvis Mugovi, a Zimbabwean serial technology entrepreneur who has steadily risen to become one of the country’s most influential innovators. From his early days as a student of Business Studies and Computing Science at the University of Zimbabwe, he has built a career defined by vision, resilience, and a passion for solving African challenges through technology. After graduating in 2015, Mugovi began his professional journey as a software developer at Expert Decision Systems (XDS).

His sharp technical skills and leadership potential quickly saw him move into managerial roles, including at Rubiem Group, a startup accelerator, where he nurtured innovation between 2016 and 2017. Parallel to his corporate career, Mugovi co-founded Mugonat Systems in 2015, a Harare-based software development agency that has grown into a powerhouse with over 30 employees and more than 100 clients, including UNICEF, ZETDC, and Lobels. Mugonat Systems has delivered impactful solutions such as Finmaze HMS, a health management system, and Cashlinq, a digital banking platform serving banks, mobile operators, and fintechs across Zimbabwe and Zambia.

His entrepreneurial footprint extends beyond Mugonat Systems. As CTO of Panamax, a blockchain-based fintech, Mugovi is tackling the high cost of borrowing for SMEs by enabling crowdfunding through Phantomx cryptocurrency. He also directs DocOnline Africa, an innovative healthtech platform, and leads ventures in edtech with Smart360° and agritech with eMudhumeni, which provides farmers with digital wallets, credit scoring, and satellite-based soil analysis.
