Our #MCM today is Tawanda Mutyebere, a Zimbabwean entrepreneur and gospel musician whose life story is a testament to vision, faith, and perseverance. Born in Bikita, he grew up in a Christian family where his father balanced mine work with running a carpentry shop. Those early lessons in hard work and enterprise shaped his determination to one day become a businessman, a dream he carried from childhood into adulthood.

In 2004, Mutyebere founded Con-Tools (Pvt) Ltd, a company specializing in tar products and road construction. The business quickly became a trusted supplier for government and public sector projects, establishing his reputation in industry. But his ambitions stretched further, and in 2010 he made a daring pivot into fast food, opening the first Chicken Slice outlet in Mvuma along the Harare–Masvingo highway.

The Mvuma outlet was a strategic masterstroke. From that single outlet, Packers International, trading as Slice Group, grew into a nationwide franchise network. Beyond business, Mutyebere is a celebrated gospel musician. His albums — Anesu, Ruponeso, Mharidzo, and Mweya — earned him two Zimbabwe Music Awards for Male Gospel Artist of the Year in 2006 and 2007. His hit song Ikoko remains a fan favorite, and he often says singing is his greatest joy outside of business.

Philanthropy has also defined his journey. In 2012, he paid rent for a homeless family in Braeside, supported widows in Chirumanzu with groceries and income-generating projects, and built a church for the Apostolic Faith Mission in Chaka. These acts reflect his belief that success must uplift communities, not just individuals.

Today, Mutyebere stands as a symbol of clean wealth in Zimbabwe. From tar to taste, from gospel stages to boardrooms, he has built a legacy rooted in integrity, innovation, and faith. His journey inspires young Zimbabweans to dream big, work hard, and believe that greatness is possible through conviction and perseverance.
