She said upon parking the motor vehicle in the yard, and before they could close the gate, the trio were approached by four unknown male adults who were covering their faces with balaclavas and armed with an unidentified pistol. “The accused persons ordered them to disembark from the car, and they complied.
One of the accused persons got into complainant’s motor vehicle, reversed it, and parked it outside the yard,” said Insp Msebele.
The other three accused persons force-marched the trio into the house where they demanded money and after taking the cash they locked the three inside the bedroom and drove away in complainant’s motor vehicle. “The complainants sought assistance from their neighbours who came and opened the door for them and a report was made to the police.
We urge members of the public not to carry around large sums of money, not to let people know that they have money and be vigilant at all times to notice if they are being followed,” said Insp Msebele.
She said police were appealing to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the accused persons to report at any nearest police station.
