The Maritzburg College Cycling Team once again combined strong performances with an important social cause at this year’s Amashova Cycle Race. For the third consecutive year, the College riders competed in the distinctive Hero777 cycling kit in support of Janet Legemaate’s campaign to raise awareness of organ and tissue donation. This year’s race also carried special significance as the team rode in honour of loved ones, including former Maritzburg College cyclist Daniel Janneker (Old Collegian, Class of 2025), whose legacy continues to inspire the College community.

The College produced a number of impressive performances across the 106km and 70km events, with several riders featuring among the standout performers. Among those recognised for their efforts were C. Kubekha, A.

The cyclists proudly represented the school’s famous Red, Black and White colours with purpose, passion and pride, continuing a tradition of excellence both on and off the bike. SA Schools blazer Maritzburg College rugby player Theo Boshoff has been awarded his prestigious SA Schools blazer in recognition of his outstanding performances and commitment to the game. Boshoff started for the SA Schools team in its match against the SA Schools ‘A’ side, producing an impressive performance while representing both his school and South African rugby with distinction. The SA Schools blazer is one of the highest honours in South African schoolboy rugby and recognises players who have excelled at the highest level of the school game.
