PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has appointed Advocate Shepherd Manhivi as Executive Secretary of the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission. Adv Manhivi is a seasoned lawyer and governance expert who has risen through the ranks of public service since 2008. “He distinguished himself at the Parliament of Zimbabwe, where he served as senior adviser to several Parliamentary Portfolio Committees that include Mines and Energy, Human Rights, Foreign Affairs, Budget and Finance and Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs.

“Advocate Manhivi played a key role in the Parliamentary select Committee on the new Constitution for Zimbabwe (COPAC) that was responsible for the drafting of the 2013 Constitution. “He later led the Secretariat of the African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption (APNAC)-Zimbabwe Chapter, strengthening parliamentary integrity and accountability,” reads the statement. Adv Manhivi also served at the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission as Regional Coordinator, overseeing its devolved structures and was the focal person for the Presidential Matrix in Matabeleland, ensuring the implementation and monitoring of peacebuilding initiatives.

“ZACC looks forward to this new phase under Advocate Manhivi’s leadership and is confident in his ability to steer the organisation to greater heights in the national fight against corruption. The chairperson, commissioners and all members of staff warmly congratulate him on his appointment,” the statement said.
