Zimbabwe News Update
Mkhululi Ncube,.Zimpapers ReporterNKAYI District Development Coordinator Matilda Mlotshwa, who has served in the position since 2016, has been transferred to Mangwe District in Matabeleland South province. She succeeds the retired former Mangwe District Development Coordinator, Rorisanga Makurane.Ms Mlotshwa began her duties in Mangwe in September. She said she gave her best to Nkayi District and will bring the same work ethic to her new role in Mangwe.“I spent nine years in Nkayi District and had a great working relationship with various stakeholders.I loved the coordination among the stakeholders, which made my job easy.
The district has wonderful people and development is accelerating in the district. There are many opportunities there and if only the Bulawayo-Nkayi-Gokwe Road and the Kwekwe-Nkayi road can be done, it will awaken a sleeping giant,” she said.Ms Mlotshwa said during her tenure, she oversaw the building of the first hotel at Nkayi Centre, the installation of streetlights and the growing residential areas.“When I left, they threw me a big party, which was humbling because it was testimony to the relationship we had enjoyed working with the chiefs, government workers, development partners and ordinary villagers.
The memories made there will stay with me forever,” she said. While still settling in Mangwe Ms Mlotswha, said she has already seen a lot of promise in the district and hailed the many local community initiatives to develop the district. She said one of the top agendas is the fight against drug and substance abuse.“I am still settling in Mangwe, but the promises are good. There are so many community-initiated projects like building of clinics, roads and drilling of boreholes which dovetails with Government mantra of Ilizwe Lakhiwa ngaba ninilo. I am ready for the challenge,” she said.@themkhustLeave a ReplyCancel reply
