A 59-year-old man from Tynwald lost his car to robbers while attending a funeral in Marlborough on Tuesday. Charles Mahuwe parked his dark blue Honda Fit Hybrid, registration number AGH 6112, outside a house along Harare Drive. He closed and locked all doors and windows before heading inside a house to pay his respects.

After a brief period, Mahuwe returned to his vehicle only to find two unidentified men inside the car. One was on the driver’s seat, attempting to start the engine. In a panic, he confronted the thieves and battled with them but they overpowered him.

The two men then sped away along Harare Drive, leaving Mahuwe stranded and distressed. Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, spokesperson for the Harare provincial police, confirmed the incident. “We are currently investigating a case of vehicle theft in Marlborough. The total value of the stolen car is estimated at US$8,000,” he said.
