Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Hon Marian Chombo, who accompanied Minister Masuka, said more investment in the irrigation development is needed to ensure maximum of the dams around the province
“Our wheat farming area continues to increase year after year, thanks to the support from government programs like Pedistock and Maka facilities, private players, and irrigation joint ventures.
These initiatives have increased our wheat hectarage from 18,500 hectares in 2020 to 35,525 this year. “We enthusiastically welcome irrigation projects, which are very important for us here in Mashonaland West Province, as we have access to abundant water from Mazvikadeyi Dam, Chivero Dam, Darwendale Dam, Biri Dam, and many other rivers that flow through this area,” she said.
