Patriotic Front (PF) presidential aspirantMakebi Zuluhas criticised the proposed introduction of a 24-hour economy, stating that the initiative is unlikely to succeed under current conditions. The debate was sparked following an announcement by Information and Media MinisterCornelius Mweetwathat Cabinet had approved the extension of business operating hours to 24 hours for premises such as markets, shops, and bus stations. Reacting to the development, Zulu said the policy cannot be effectively implemented without first strengthening the economy, increasing citizens’ spending power, and ensuring that businesses are capable of sustaining extended operating hours.
He argued that without these foundational elements, the transition to a 24-hour economy would face significant challenges. Makebi, where is your economic turn around plan. You have to move away from politicking and quickly move to issues that are affecting the people – bread and butter issues.
Do you already have a shadow economic technical committee as an aspiring Presidential candidate. I am, however, impressed with how Chishimba Kambwili of all people expounded his economic diversification plan on KBN TV the other day.Look at how people were dribbled in 2021, we dont want fake saviours again Your criticising the 24 hour economy is irrelevant, hollow and a waste of peoples time. I am your genuine supporter but I want to see how sound your economic policies are, WHERE ARE THEY PLEASE? No one has been stopped in the past from trading 24/7 so nothing will changeJust another empty proposalWe the people have the right to pass comment whilst you politicians should be telling us your solution With the lamentable failure of the UPND, the goal is wide open but the opposition is as usual just issuing political commentary monga niku bola.
And i agree with people who are asking for tangible plans which people can scrutinise now. For now both the ruling and opposition in this country are just lame ducks. The ruling party is full of self praise with nil economic impact in our compounds and communities and some people are clapping.
Stone age things He failed in mathematics so dont expect any quantitative structured reasoning. He only knows how to speak english and to push his eye glasses up and down in order to appear EXECUTIVE and periodically Caughing a little. so shallow!!
try physics People like Makebi Zulu are hellbent on taking Zambia backwards “Zulu said the policy cannot be effectively implemented without first strengthening the economy, increasing citizens’ spending power, and ensuring that businesses are capable of sustaining extended operating hours.”Zulu what are you talking about, you do not make any sense. Zulu can by far make a better President than what we have currently, judging by his composure. let him just package his economic message well and truthfully and avoid things like there is no rain in Dubai but there is electricity, mealie meal will be K50, fertiliser will be K250, fuel will be K12, we dont want such things any more in Zambia
