Mahetshe community to appeal acquittal of officers accused of assaulting pupils

In today’s bulletin, Community leaders in Mahetshe, Maphisa (Matabeleland South) plan to challenge a court decision that cleared three police officers accused of assaulting 12 pupils during a May 2025 “awareness campaign.” The Rapid Support Forces, a Sudanese paramilitary group, are reportedly detaining residents around al-Fashir in North Darfur after taking control of the city in late October.
