Highlanders 1–1 Dynamos

HIGHLANDERS and Dynamos go into the half-time break of their action-packed Battle of Zimbabwe encounter tied at one-all.

Bosso broke the deadlock in the 17th minute through Brian Mlotshwa before Jairos Kasondo levelled matters in the 37th minute.

Mlotshwa was the recipient of an Andrew Mbeba cross, which he calmly tapped home to give the hosts the lead.

Kasondo, who was given too much space by the Highlanders defenders, equalised for DeMbare. His shot from outside the box deflected off Arthur Ndlovu before beating Ariel Sibanda.

Bosso got the first chance of the half when Marvin Sibanda sent in a brilliant cross from a free-kick, which met no takers inside the box. Moments later, DeMbare would get theirs as well, but it went to waste.

Bosso continued to dominate the proceedings early on but could not create any clear-cut chances. In the 12th minute, Sibanda attempted a long-range shot but slipped before he could properly connect with the ball, resulting in a weak effort easily dealt with by Prince Tafiremutsa.

Two minutes after Bosso had broken the deadlock, DeMbare came close to levelling through Gumisai Mandivei. The Dynamos centre-back received a brilliant cross from Abel Gwatidzo, but his headed effort went over the bar.

At the half-hour mark, Issaka Mohammed made a crucial block inside the box to deny Benjamin Adeogun. The block resulted in a corner kick which came to nothing.

With 10 minutes left before the break, Vusa Ngwenya attempted a long-range shot which went wide.

Just before the interval, Bosso came close to reclaiming the lead when Never Rauzhi sent in a brilliant cross which was headed goalwards by Luckmore Mutumbi, but an alert Tafiremutsa punched it away for a corner.

Ariel Sibanda produced the best save of the match so far when he cleared off the goal line to deny Wisdom Mtasa, who had connected with a Leeroy Mavunga cross after Mavunga had dribbled past the Bosso defence on the left wing.
