As I said in my previous letter, the M 1 and the Hans Dettman Highway are very busy roads. They connect the sprawling Chatsworth township with industrial Pinetown. A considerable section of these two roads was left unmarked for several years.

Only a few months ago the municipality got these roads marked and whoever did it, made a mess of it! Zig-zag markings! About the same time, the M13 was remarked.

And guess what? The M13 was perfectly marked. No crooked lines, no zig zags.

Why the discrepancy between Chatsworth and the Upper Highway? There are several DA councilors in Chatsworth. What are they doing about the poorly maintained roads?

Look at the apalling condition of Astral Drive in Unit 10. Part of it was rehabilitated, but the rest left undone. Yet the Chatsworth Electricity headquarters is on that road!

They can’t be bothered about the poor condition of the road. What are the councillors doing about the rubbish being dumped in Bangladesh Road, Higginson Highway and in front of Chatsworth High? Can’t be bothered?

Yet, the DA councillor is always on the ball. Not a pothole escapes her attention. My conclusion?

The Chatsworth councillors are sitting on their backsides and earning a fat salary. As for the municipality, it practices discrimination. Shame on you!
