President Trump and the U.S. government bombed Venezuela, captured its president, and claimed they are acting to fight drugs and dictatorship. Venezuela’s rich oil fields are now open to U.S.

companies. Iraq was once helped the same way, with claimed weapons of mass destruction and very real destruction. Where the United States “intervenes”, chaos reliably follows, profits reliably flow, and explanations reliably insult the public’s intelligence. At least the pattern remains intact.
