It’s amazing how the past, (dubious), always comes back to haunt one. Mayor Thebolla can say what he wants to, nothing will right the wrongs inflicted upon Maritzburg United, now Durban City, Nedbank Cup title holders, Dragon-slayers, Karma, call it what you like. (The Witness, May 4).
Contracts, like rules, are made to be broken. Hiding behind a contract, which was supposedly implemented to the letter, (dollar?), is brittle defence. I am no soccer fan, but even I could see here was a plan (kicking out Maritzburg United for Royal AM), that was never going to come together.
Contracts and all. And so it proved with the subsequent Royal AM saga. Durban City will never come back to Pietermarizburg.
