FORMER LAZ president Eddie Mwitwa says the Association should continue being part of the Oasis Forum, arguing that its voice is louder when it is merged with like-minded organisations. Mwitwa adds that it is not unusual for members to request for an urgent Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM), stressing that there is democracy within the Association. On Monday, some members of the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) requested the association’s council to convene an urgent EGM to discuss, among other things, whether it was proper for the LAZ president to continue issuing statements on the constitutional amendment process without wide consultation of the LAZ membership.
