Phiri initially appeared before Harare magistrate Micheal Mafukidze on Monday and was remanded to yesterday for sentencing after she pleaded guilty. Six months were suspended on condition that she does not commit a similar offense in the next five years.

In the viral video, she hurled insults at Zodwa, her daughter Mello and her partner Denzel Tadiwa Maveve. She unleashed a barrage of insults against the trio.
In the video, she abused Mello by calling her the “daughter of a prostitute,’ which resulted in Zodwa filing criminal charges against her. Prosecutor Kanchelskis Ropi told the court that on Wednesday last week, Zodwa came across a TikTok video, posted by Kissmore Soko, in which she was insulting the businesswoman, calling her a ‘prostitute’ and using highly offensive language.
